About the ASEAN Peer Review on Consumer Protection:
Under Outcome 1.2. of the ASEAN Strategic Action Plan on Consumer Protection (ASAPCP) 2016-2025, the ASEAN Committee on Consumer Protection (ACCP) is committed to the implementation of Voluntary Peer Reviews on consumer protection in selected ASEAN Member States (AMS), which shall be based on and benchmarked against the ASEAN High-Level Principles on Consumer Protection (AHLPCP).
The Peer Reviews are conceived as key measures towards the achievement of Strategic Goal 1 concerning the establishment of “a common ASEAN consumer protection framework” which is founded on effective, up-to-date national consumer protection frameworks in the AMS. At this, the Peer Reviews constitute a vital contribution to the modernization of existing consumer protection policies, laws, and regulations.
