Vietnam , 01 January 1970

15th March is now officially recognized as the “Vietnam Consumer Rights Day” under the Prime Minister's Decision No. 1035/QD-TTg dated 10th July 2015. The "Vietnam Consumer Rights Day" is celebrated annually to acknowledge the importance of protecting consumers' interests, the importance of sustainable development, as well as to educate, disseminate policies and laws on consumer protection.

The theme "Enterprises for Consumers" was selected by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to celebrate Vietnam’s Consumer Rights Day in 2017. The selection of this theme not only confirms the important role of the business sector in upholding consumer protection; but also serves to call enterprises to comply strictly with the legal regulations on consumer protection.

At the launching ceremony, on behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh announced and called for enterprises across the country to participate in the “Action plan for Consumers”. Based on the spirit of “Creativity and Action”, this action plan is developed and sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to create a bridge between business and consumers.

In response to the call of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, representatives of 10 enterprises have joined the “Action Plan for consumer 2017”, and among others commit to carry out many activities on consumer protection in the coming time such as: building switchboards to receive consumer complaints, carry out programs during consumer action months, promote consumer rights and obligations of consumers.
