Cambodia , 01 February 2022

(Phnom Penh): Through the collection of relevant information in the markets by the investigating officer of the Consumer Protection Competition and Fraud Repression Directorate-General (CCF), as well as through information received from the relevant authorities, an investigation was made on the importation of shrimps injected with CMC.  The investigation resulted in the interception of several trucks who was found carrying shrimps injected with CMC on multiple occasions in early January 2022.  CCF officials continue their cooperation with the Cambodian Customs and Excise officials stationed at the border to inspect imported shrimps in an effort to prevent CMC injected shrimps to be publicly circulated within the Cambodian market.
