DTI: Puregold Offers Low Cost, High Quality Frozen Meat Products

Philippines , 27 August 2021

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Agriculture (DA), in cooperation with Puregold Price Club Inc., launched the Presyong Risonable Dapat (PRD) Program – Frozen Meat Edition last 24 August 2021 at Puregold QI Central, G. Araneta Ave., cor. E. Rodriguez, Brgy. Doña Imelda, Quezon City.

Consumers can now purchase low cost and high-quality frozen meat products from 25 branches of Puregold stores in the National Capital Region and Bulacan. Select Puregold stores will offer cheaper frozen meat products for as low as P199/kilo.

The DTI-Consumer Protection Group (CPG) closely worked with Puregold to ensure consumers’ continuous access to affordable meat products even while the National Capital Region (NCR) is placed under a stricter community quarantine.

DTI CPG Undersecretary Ruth B. Castelo says, “The DTI is pleased that Puregold has joined as one of our partners under this program and agreed to offer frozen meat products in their stores at lower prices to help consumers.”

The PRD Program – Frozen Meat Edition, which aims at providing low-cost meat products to the public, was successfully launched in Robinsons Supermarket Galleria last 31 July 2021.  Pop-up stores in cooperation with MyOwn Group of Companies and Atkins Import and Export Resources Inc. were organized in three cities – Marikina, Muntinlupa, and Quezon in NCR.

On 21 August 2021, the DTI and DA held the PRD Program – Frozen Meat Edition simultaneously in Quezon City and Muntinlupa City. Aside from meat products, other basic necessities and prime commodities were also offered at discounted prices to consumers through the DTI’s Diskwento Caravan.

“The DTI assures the public that government is closely working with the private sector to bring cheaper frozen meat products to consumers,” says Undersecretary Castelo.
