Affordable Meat Products Available at Marikina Riverbanks this Saturday
Philippines , 23 July 2021
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) team up with Atkins Import and Export Resources Inc., and MyOwn Group of Companies to provide consumers access to low-cost frozen meat products amid the community quarantine, cheaper by at least P20.00 than Atkins and MOMS store prices.
Under the “Presyong Risonable Dapat” (PRD) Program, this Frozen Meat edition is conceptualized to bring pork and chicken products to the consuming public at their lowest prices. Consumers can purchase one kilo of liempo for as low as P260.00 and one kilo of chicken leg quarters for as low as Php 110.00. The products available under the PRD Program Frozen Meat edition are priced much lower than those sold in regular supermarkets and public markets.
The PRD Program Frozen Meat Edition will run every Saturday in different areas within the National Capital Region. The program's pilot run is on 24 July 2021 at Marikina Riverbanks from 10:00 AM –4:00 PM. Consumers are encouraged to follow the DTI’s Consumer Care official social media accounts for announcements regarding the program.
The DTI and DA extend their appreciation to Atkins Import and Export Resources Inc. and MyOwn Group of Companies for their cooperation to bring affordable products to the consumers, and the Marikina Riverbanks Management for providing us the venue free of charge.
“We encourage all consumers to take advantage of this program and buy affordable frozen meat products at the most reasonable prices,” says DTI Consumer Protection Group Undersecretary Ruth B. Castelo.
DA Assistant Secretary Kristine Evangelista advises the public “to comply with the minimum health protocols and to always wear their face masks and face shields when going out.” Further, consumers are encouraged to bring reusable bags.
